Spam
Bouncer is anti spam software that is managed on your
behalf by the Bignames technical email support team.
A briefly explanation of how it works is we
direct your email to the anti spam server, Spam Bouncer then
assesses whether it is legitimate email or not, using a variety
of criteria checks the results of which create a 'spam score'.
Depending on whether or not the score hits the Spam threshold
(set by you under the 'Tolerance' option) the message is then
either deleted, forwarded marked as spam and delivered to
your email address, or sent to a designated spam mail account.
More detail regarding these options is expanded upon below.

are a number of ways Spam Bouncer allows you to deal with
Spam email: |

Set the tolerance
on a scale between 1 to 10. |

Delete the Email. |

Deliver all email marked as
Spam to the intended email address. |

Deliver all detected spam
to a specific mailbox for Spam only.
(Thus having a copy of all emails to check for any false
positives* which could then be whitelisted to ensure they
are not marked as Spam again in error.) |

Whitelist /Blacklist enable you to always accept/deny
email from a specific email addresses even if it triggers
any of the anti spam criteria Spam Bouncer uses to detect
whether or not a message is spam. |

It is straightforward to set
up and requires no changes or involvement from you, the
customer. Nor will you experience any disruption to your
email service. The whole service is managed by Bignames
therefore there is no need for anyone in your organisation
or yourself to worry about another computing task which
can be a distraction from your primary role at work, especially
if there are a number of email accounts to manage. |

with any requests to settings , i.e. white list, tolerance
level, etc and Bignames will do the rest. Always include your

Non business users operating under five email
accounts benefit from a reduced charge of £62
per year (vat inc. 20%) per domain due to the general
overall lower resource use taken up on the server.

all email accounts.

**Please note that not all illicit email is in
fact Spam and while annoying, your email address can legitimately
find itself on opt in marketing lists. Therefore a certain
degree of tolerance is required when running email in that
a certain amount of unwanted email will always appear in your
inbox. Most mail programs can be trained to deal with any
junk email which does bypass the thorough assessment of our
anti spam server. What Spam Bouncer delivers is a safeguard
against the most common and up to date methods and techniques
Spammers are using to circumvent most anti spam programs and
keeps your mailbox free of the large majority of spam.
